Running In February

Yesterday I ran 2 miles! Although that is not my best number of miles to run, it was a goal I needed to reach. I have been sick for the past two weeks, with a sore throat and a runny nose, and running doesn't help them, so I took a 2 week running break.

I started running last year, when my sisters and I decided we wanted to run a half marathon. We started training the day after Christmas. After that first run, we worked our way up from a mile to two, and so on.

To keep us motivated for the half marathon, we ran a 5k in February 2012, after roughly a month of training. Then, in March, we ran a 10k and finally on April 1, 2012, we ran a half marathon!! It was so much fun to train and to run the races.

Surprisingly, it rained every race and was freezing, except for the half marathon. I definently learned how to use plastic wrap to keep my feet dry! We really battled the weather in our races, but we had fun encouraging each other and achieving our running goals!

Do enjoy running and staying fit? For any of you that do, great job, and keep doing it!! One tip for you if you want to start running. Try to find a running buddy, to help you stay motivated. From running with my two sisters, I know that it makes a big difference.

Thank you so much for visiting Love, Caroline! I would love to hear from you by leaving a comment below or contacting me through email. Your support is always so appreciated! Have a great rest of the week!!

  2. Running is a really good way to stay fit!!! It is great (weather permitted) form of exercise and a chance to just clear the mind and run. I think you are doing a great job. Keep it up.
