Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope y'all had a great Valentine's Day. I know I've really enjoyed all the chocolate, cupcakes and fruit that I've had today. My mom even planned a Valentine's Day party, so I got to spend the day with my family and friends. We had lot's of fun playing settlers of catan and headbandz. We made Valentine's cards for everyone and I loved that everyone was so creative. I even had some homemade chocolate today, which was divine!

After the Valentine's Day party my family and I had a special dinner and then went to tutti fruttu, a frozen yogurt place to get some amazing yogurt to go with watching the Olympics. Also, can I just say that the Olympics this year are amazing. I can't even imagine being a snowboarder or a figure skater, but I know each of the Olympians have really practiced hard in their sport and I can tells that it has paid off.

Again, Happy Valentine's Day and enjoy the Winter Olympics!

Scarf Loving

Top: Gap
Pants: Old Navy
Scarf: Walmart
I got this scarf from Walmart and it is amazing! The colors are perfect for fall and winter! The scarf is gold, maroon, green, and beige and is an infinity scarf which makes it ten times better! I absolutely love it and have been wearing it constantly this past month.

Things I've been up to lately:
1. Applying for college scholarships. (College is so expensive!)
2. Going on a no-shampoo run and using baking soda instead. (It's way better for my hair and keeps it moisturized even in this cold weather.)
3. Growing out my hair. (That doesn't really take much effort, but I've been trying to keep it healthy and am staying away from heat products that could damage it.)
4. I've also been working on my photography skills and am thinking of starting my own photography business. (My Canon 60D really makes taking pictures so much fun! I'm so glad I decided to invest money a nice, new camera.)

Hope y'all are having a great week so far!

Moody Mansion Tour

Top: Bounce
Pants: Target
Jacket: Baylor
Beany: Gift
Scarf: Chile (gift)
Boot Socks: Target
Boots: Target

During the Christmas Break, I had the opportunity to go to Moody Mansion in Galveston. The Moody family founded Galveston and have many famous attractions named after them, including Moody Gardens. The Moody Mansion has survived numerous hurricanes and other disasters and is still remarkably beautiful even though it is really old. It's is so beautiful inside, and the amount of money that the Moody family spent on it is immense.

I really enjoyed my visit and their cars are amazing! I think they had a thing for green cars, every car I saw was green and they still look the same as they did when people drove them, according to the pictures of the cars.

Here's one of my photographs of the landscape at the Moody Mansion. The landscape was beautiful and they had some great looking flowers. I'm really enjoying my new camera and was so glad I had it to get these amazing pictures at the Moody Mansion!

Touch of Gold

Top: Target
Pants: Target
Cardigan: Walmart
Shoes: Amazon
Here's one of my recent outfits from the holiday season on the night of New Years Eve. I will be attending Baylor University in the Fall of 2014, so I've really been working on incorporating gold and green (BU colors) into my wardrobe. This v-neck is one of my favorite of the many gold and green articles of clothing that I have bought.

Hope y'all had a great holiday and our ready for a new year and with new, exciting adventures!

Unicorn Braided Bun

One of the new hairstyles I've tried lately is the unicorn braided bun. After I did my post on the unicorn braid, I just twisted up the braid and made the bun. That pretty much sums up how I made the look, but here are the pictures of the process.
First, start of with a unicorn braid with a thin or clear elastic holding the hairstyle in place.
Secondly, wrap/twist the braid around itself on the back of your head where you want your bun to be placed and secure the look with bobby pins or small clips. I put my bun to the side to make it more dramatic and noticeable.
Here's the finished look. You can put decorative bobby pins in or clips to make the bun really stand out or to dress it up.
Here's the finished look. It is so cute, chic and easy to do!
I think the look turns out wonderful and is something everyone should at least try out. Hope you enjoy this look. It's a great 5 minute look!
