Braided Bun Tutorial

Over this summer I've been trying out different hair styles and creating some of my own, and this is one that I thought up. Most of the braided buns I've seen start out just braided and not in a ponytail, but I put my hair in a ponytail first, which adds extra volume to my style without teasing! It's a super easy hair style and takes me about 2 minutes or less to do. Here's how I do it!

What you'll need:
  1. 2 hair ties
  2. 4-8 bobby pins
  3. A cute hair clip
  4. Hair spray
1. Start out with your hair in a side ponytail and then braid it to the ends and put a hair tie in. You can have a loose braid for a messy looking braided bun or a more tight one like mine for a more finished look.
2. Then wrap your braid around itself like you would do a regular bun and use bobby pins to keep it in place. You'll need roughly 4-8 bobby pins depending on your hair type.
3. Place a cute hair clip in and use hair spray and tame any unruly hairs.
4. And there you have a cute braided bun!

I hope you give this cute look a try and if you do submit your photos of how the look turned out for you and tell me how you like it! Let me know if you have any tips to make the tutorial easier to understand and please be specific.

  2. You may not believe me, but I'm wearing a bun just like this right now. Only it's not braided because my layers are a little too short for that. Cute!

  9. The flower gives it that fun punch of sassiness. I wish my hair was long enough to try this. I do enjoy wearing mine up though, especially in the hotter days of summer. Thanks for sharing your fun look on BeColorful.
