6 Ways to Have Healthy Beautiful Skin

Fresh Face: What Your Acne Is Telling You

I've seen lots of products on tv and in stores that claim to help my skin and yours, but what I haven't seen a lot of is how we can help our skin. My mom is really in to health and nutrition and since my mom is a retired physical therapist and my dad is a dentist I've received lots of healthy tips in my life time. Here are some that have helped me keep healthy skin.

I'll be honest, I have never had serious problems with acne or oily skin and I attribute that to these 6 tips. I've had pimples and zits before but they've been only for short periods and have happened when I've been under a lot of stress. Face mapping is a way that you can find out why your breaking out.

Well, here are my 6 tips for healthy beautiful skin
1. Drink lots of water. Seriously, this actually works! Water is a cleansing agent for your skin and helps remove impurities that are brought on by dairy products, harsh chemicals and can even reduce your oily skin and acne.

2. Eat healthy. Lots of people think that drinking milk is good for them but, milk actually causes acne as many doctors have concluded, and sugar causes acne and other ailments. The fix for this is less saturated fat foods, less sugar and dairy products and more fruits and vegetables. So next time your face breaks out, make sure to think back on what you ate. You don't have to cut all sugar and milk from your diet but for healthier skin, only have these on rare occasions and opt for healthy alternatives, like honey, and rice or almond milk.

3.. Wash your face daily. I have lots of friends who think it's ok to leave their makeup on over night and just touch up in the morning, but it's not! By leaving on make up over night, your skin is prone to bacteria and clogged pores, and to harsh chemicals in your makes up, so make sure to wash that all off nightly. Usually I wake up and splash cold water on my face to close my pores and then I put my make up on and then at night I wash it off while I shower so I can kill two birds with one stone.

 4. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Your skin is prone to aging, and by keeping it moisturized you slow the aging process and have healthier skin. It's really important to moisturize your skin to prevent clogged pores and to keep your skin young and healthy, so make sure to keep your skin moisturized. Make sure to choose the right moisturizer for you!

 5. Always wear sunscreen! I don't care if it's moisturizer with sunscreen, foundation or plain old sunscreen, but your skin needs to be protected 24/7! Through using sunscreen you reduces aging your changes of fine lines and wrinkles, and age spots and also lower your chance of skin cancer or other skin diseases that the sun causes.

 6. For less fine lines and wrinkles opt to eat skin healthy foods, including blueberries, wild salmon, oysters, tomatoes, kiwi, dark chocolate, sweet potatoes. All of these food sources are antiaging and help you stay young and healthy longer. Tip 2 and 6 are very similar but in 2 I show you what not to eat and in 6 I show you what to eat for healthy skin.

I hope you give these tips a try and protect your skin!

I've included lots of link in this post on all of my tips to show that this isn't just my beliefs, but it's true. I encourage you to check out these links and find even more ways to help prevent aging.

  1. I can speak from experience about #2! Last year I cut out nearly all of the dairy and sugar from my diet and I really did see a tremendous difference in my skin. I haven't been as strict about it lately and I'm starting to notice. It's time to get back on track!
